mariic's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love puppy breath! I did something very fun yesterday. I went with my mom to the gym and talked her into going down to the humane society’s new campus for compassion and look at dogs. I knew it was on 15th Avenue and Dobbins, close to South Mountain, but didn’t know how close. We definitely took the scenic route! Well we finally found it, and went in to look at all the doggies. Dog shopping is so hard…they are all so cute and look like they want your love so bad. It breaks the heart. So I talked to all of them and petted and fell a little in love with each. There was a pit bull mix puppy boy, who really grabbed my heart. He would sit up and put his paw on my fingers on the cage and wag his tail. No barking or whining, just please, take me with you. I would have if I had a yard, but I just cannot have two dogs in a townhouse. I was so hard to walk away from him. I have thought about him constantly. But on a brighter note, and the reason we were there, was my mom. We looked at a few dogs, had them bring them into the get acquainted area, but nothing really clicked. Then I found this little girl. Her name was Roxy, she was 4 months and she loved other dogs. Her sheet said she was a lab mix, but she looked like some dog name that I cannot spell, but starts with a V. She is red, slightly brindle with gold/green hazel eyes, she has little ears that stand up and fold over at top. She was so cute. We took her into one of the pens and got a little familiar. Mom seemed pretty smitten, but she kept saying she was after a dog, not a puppy. But the more she was getting to know Roxy, the more she was falling for her. I have to admit, I was pushing for her! Well, Mom talked to dad and they decided to get her. Oh, she was so sweet on the ride home, she sat in my moms lap the whole time and snuggled. Dad thought she was great. So I think it is a good match. I took Holly over last night to introduce them. They got along fine. Holly was not particularly interested in Roxy, but was not aggressive at all. Roxy would sit up on me on the couch and get pets. It seems so weird to me, because Holly is so independent, not much for pets. So I have a crush on the new puppy, and the parents are crazy about her. So welcome to the family Roxy, I hope you have a wonderful life with us. 9:01 a.m. - 2003-11-23 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
